Namangan region with an area of 7440 km² is located in the Ferghana Valley. The region consists of 11 districts and 8 cities, among which the largest ones are Namangan, Chartak, Chust, Kasansay. The administrative center of the region is Namangan city which is located 305 km from Tashkent. Basically, its territories lie on the right side of the Syr Darya river, surrounded by the Kuramin and northern Chatkal mountains.

 

In Namangan region there are deposits of non-ferrous metals, as well as gypsum and lime. Mineral water sources have been discovered in Shahand, Uchkurgan, Chartak and Chadaksay. The local population is mainly engaged in silk and textile production, shoe manufacturing and cotton processing. In addition, electromechanical enterprises and chemical plants are successfully operating here. In the city of Turakurgan, a dried fruit factory produces its products. The local places are famous for Chust handicrafts, especially knives

Transportation

  • The length of railways in the region is about 140 km.

In 2016, the construction of the Angren - Pap railway with a length of 120 km was completed; the project cost is $ 2.5 billion dollars; the construction of a new Pap - Namangan railway is underway

  • The length of roads is 11.8 thousand km (including with asphalt concrete pavement of about 4 thousand km, movement towards Tashkent is carried out through the Kamchik pass)

A mud therapeutic resort is located in the region, in the foothills of Chatkal. A special place is occupied by the Republican ambulance center and medical clinics "Saydana", Anamed, Doctor A.

Namangan is the second largest city in Uzbekistan, one of the glorious cities of the Ferghana Valley, located in its northern part 200 km from Tashkent. Namangan, which is located at an altitude of 476 m above sea level, is the administrative center of the Namangan region and has a population of about 450 thousand inhabitants.

Namangan region is located on the right bank of the Syr Darya River. Its territory covers a little more than 7 thousand square meters. km Its administrative, cultural and industrial center is the city of Namangan, located near the Kuramin mountain range.

Favorable climatic conditions and high soil fertility in the Namangan territory allow local farmers to get almost the highest yields compared to other regions of Uzbekistan. Almost all local farms specialize in gardening, horticulture and viticulture.

Juicy, sweet, sun-filled Namangan apples and other fruits are in great demand both in the domestic and foreign markets. Songs and legends are even composed about them.

Today, the fruits grown by gardeners in the region literally fascinate everyone. It is worth trying an apple, grape or sweet cherry from local gardens, and the desire to taste these fruits will appear again and again. The local climate and soil make fruit a real storehouse of healthy vitamins. The hard work and many years of experience of farmers are behind a rich harvest. They borrowed experience and knowledge from their ancestors, who worked for decades in the gardens.

In addition to irrigated agriculture, the region is also developed rainfed. In the eastern part of the region, surrounded by mountain ranges, the climate is mild, precipitation is up to 600 millimeters. The industrial production of Namangan region is dominated by textile, food, processing, engineering industries, building materials industry.
